CEO Story
Angela Coton joined CAPE as CEO in February 2024, bringing with her more than a decade of experience leading a youth work charity in South London and over two decades experience in Local Government . Drawn to CAPE’s bold and compassionate approach, Angela was inspired by the organisation’s commitment to supporting people living with complex mental health challenges — a cause that resonates deeply with her own lived experience of complex mental health and suicide within her own family.
Angela was excited by the opportunity to lead a charity that not only makes a significant difference to people’s lives, but also actively challenges the stigma surrounding mental health. She is passionate about CAPE’s unique approach, supporting people who are often turned away or underserved by other organisations or NHS services. Underpinned by co-production, CAPE continually develops new services based on the real needs and experiences of the people it supports.
At the heart of Angela’s leadership is a strong belief in the power of relationships. CAPE’s work focuses on building trust with the people who use its services, creating meaningful connections that lead to more impactful and lasting support. Angela is incredibly proud of CAPE’s dedicated and skilled team, whose compassion and expertise make this work possible every day.
Optimistic about the future, Angela is excited to lead CAPE into its next chapter of growth and innovation, ensuring even more people can access the support, understanding, and opportunities they deserve.
