In addition to individual therapy, CAPE offers group therapy to further support people who can benefit from shared experiences and collective healing. Our therapy groups are focused on promoting mental wellbeing, building self-confidence, and fostering a sense of community and mutual support among clients.
Groups outlined below:
MBT (Mentalisation-Based Therapy)
Duration: Long-term (12 months+)
Who it’s for: Individuals with borderline personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder, eating disorders, depression, or trauma.
Overview: MBT helps participants understand their thoughts, beliefs, wishes, and feelings and how these connect to their actions and behaviors, fostering greater emotional insight and resilience.
BAT (Behavioural Activation Therapy)
Duration: 8-10 weeks
Who it’s for: Individuals experiencing moderate to severe depression.
Overview: BAT focuses on helping participants change their behavior, which in turn transforms how they think and feel, empowering them to break free from negative cycles.
Women’s IET (Interpersonal Effectiveness Therapy)
Duration: 16 weeks
Who it’s for: Women seeking to develop stronger communication and interpersonal skills.
Overview: This program teaches participants how to achieve goals in interactions, say no assertively, be heard, and communicate effectively even during emotional moments.
Hearing Voices Group
Duration: Long-term
Who it’s for: Individuals who hear voices or experience other sensations.
Overview: A supportive space to share experiences, connect with others, and learn from their journeys in a safe, understanding environment.
Art & Wellbeing Group
Who it’s for: Individuals looking to enhance mental health and self-care through creativity.
Overview: This group uses creative arts as a therapeutic outlet to support emotional expression, wellbeing, and personal growth.
Women’s Movement Therapy Group
Who it’s for: Women seeking a creative, safe space to process emotions and challenges.
Overview: This group combines body movement, verbal expression, and a supportive environment to help participants explore and express difficult emotions in a non-judgmental way.
Men’s Wellbeing Movement Group
Duration: 6 weeks
Who it’s for: Men looking to improve their mental health and overall wellbeing.
Overview: A practical, judgment-free space to explore ways to lower stress, improve sleep, and enhance relaxation and overall health.
Psychoeducation Workshops
Duration: 8 weeks
Who it’s for: Individuals struggling with anxiety.
Overview: These workshops provide tools and strategies to better understand anxiety, develop coping mechanisms, and improve daily life management.
Stretch for Stress
Who it’s for: Anyone seeking to reduce stress and improve physical and mental balance.
Overview: A gentle, slow-paced class blending stretching, simple yoga postures, gentle movement, and breath awareness to increase range of motion and relaxation.
Peer Support Group (Around the Table with Mary)
Duration: Long-term
Who it’s for: Individuals looking for a client-led, supportive environment.
Overview: A welcoming space for participants to share advice, offer support, and connect with others in similar situations.
Men’s Health and Wellbeing Group
Who it’s for: Men interested in discussing and improving their overall health and wellbeing.
Overview: This group covers topics like men’s health, nutrition, relationships, lifestyle, and mental wellbeing, encouraging open conversation and shared learning.
